Where:Erwin Park 4300 Co Rd 1006, McKinney, TX 75071

When:Saturday, September 13th, 2025, 8am 11am

What we will be doing:Well be clearing the trail, clearing areas around planted trees, performing trash pickup, and removing fallen debris and trash on trails, removing stumps, marking potential dangers along the nature path, and applying trail markings. Tools available will include weed whackers, backpack blowers, loppers, shovels, etc. To use power tools, youll have to complete MPF Safety Orientation.Click here to view the regulations.

What to bring:Print the volunteer waiverand bring it with you.Participants under age 18 need to have a guardian or parent sign the form.You will also need to have your own work gloves. Bring bug spray, sunscreen, and water. Protective eyewear is recommended if you plan to be cutting branches or operating some of the cutting tools. If you bring your own tools, please have them marked as such so we know they are yours.

What do I wear:Long pants, long sleeves, and closed-toe shoes or boots. Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended. Please dress appropriately for the weather.Please do not wear leggings, shorts, or other thin material which is not protective on your body.

Parking can be found next to the skills bike course

Volunteer workdays are open to all members of the public. Volunteers can earn service hours for their school group, troop, or club. See a member of the McKinney Parks Foundation to have your volunteer forms signed at the end of the event.
