About this Opportunity

Gentiva Hospice Volunteers help celebrate life and moments.  We offer the peaceful “ministry of presence”, most often at bedside. We provide a listening ear to a person who needs to reflect, read scriptures or books, play music or simply just hold their hand. The invaluable time volunteers give their patients, also provides exhausted family caregivers a much needed break.

Volunteering in hospice is so beautifully simple, yet it is an extraordinary act of selfless love, kindness and courage. Gentiva Hospice volunteers are equipped with meaningful training and support in their service. Military Veterans are strongly encouraged and invited to join us in our "Final Salute".  Veteran-to-Veteran peer support is much needed to help veteran patients with bedside ceremonies of commendation and to help them find the "peace to rest".

We cannot do this alone.  There is a place for you to serve, to have a real impact and to make today better for someone.

Let us walk together.

Today all over El Paso, there are people suffering with a terminal illness and with their families, need a helping hand. The flame of this life is drawing to an end and hospice care is here to help during their most difficult time.  Gentiva Hospice provides exceptional clinical care from caring doctors and nurses.  Gentle guidance, education and support from a professional team of home health aides, social workers, chaplains and volunteers all come together in one mission.
