The Briar-Reno Fire Department is looking for volunteers who want to answer this calling. As a firefighter with Briar-Reno Fire Department, you will have the opportunity to become a certified firefighter, achieve an EMS certification, and the opportunity to become trained in many specialty roles. After completion of a probationary period and certification, you will be eligible for opportunities to work paid shifts.

The Briar-Reno Fire Department serves the communities of Briar, Pelican Bay, Reno, and Sanctuary. The fire district covers 22 square miles which does not include the mutual aid agreements we have with all of our neighboring departments. In 2018, Briar-Reno Fire Department ran approximately 1,012 calls, and we are projected to exceed that amount in 2019. No certifications or experience are needed but is preferred. Candidates will be required to complete a written and physical test as well as an oral interview board. Testing dates to be announced at a later time.
