Plant It Forward

For the last 11 years we have been proud to work with Houston's new American farmers to rejuvenate our local food system. We celebrate 11 wonderful years of growing a sustainable community, providing advanced technical assistance to growers, and building a Food Hub to deliver the best fresh veggies around to Houston families!

In the past 11 years, we have
Trained over 40 new American farmers to grow and sell for Houstons market-goers, veggie lovers, and talented chefs; and enabled 18 farmers to launch agricultural enterprises.

Because of our efforts...
Today 13 farmers operate 8 independent businesses within the PIF network. Together, we farm 6 acres of land in urban Houston and provide farm-fresh produce to over 500 families each week.

Over the past 11 years, Farmer family members have earned 10 high school and post-secondary degrees. An additional 5 are currently in pursuit of a degree, including 4 active members of the US military.

Through our partnership with Urban Harvest, we ensure that high quality fresh produce is financially accessible to everyone, without compromising on our commitment to ensure fair pay for farmers.

Along the way, countless friendships have been formed and continue to grow each and every day!
