About this Opportunity
Community Care volunteers are the agency’s "First Responders" and provide assistance to clients who are reaching out to Catholic Charities for help during a difficult time in their lives. We need volunteers to assist in various roles. Shifts are available Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 5 pm at our Arlington and Fort Worth locations. Volunteers can set their own schedule. All training and materials are provided.
Volunteer Roles:
o Concierge: Field initial call center phone calls, schedule appointments based on type of service needed, provide preliminary information on possible solutions that CCFW can offer, guide clients on paperwork/documentation needed. *Morning hours only*
o Navigator: Interview clients about needs (financial and other), coach clients through referrals to internal programs or external organizations when appropriate, provide active and compassionate listening to crisis callers.
o Resource Specialist: Maintain updated resource list specific to areas where majority of clients reside; includes researching appropriateness of referral (is the organization in line with Catholic values) and accuracy of services listed.
o Receptionist: Greet site guests and assess needs of any walk-in visitors. *Arlington location only*
o Benefits Enrollment Assistant: Assist clients with benefits applications.
